Titwobble Lane
TITWOBBLE LANE, VictoriaDrive out of the old gold-mining town of Wedderburn in Victoria and Twiddy Lane turns into the unpaved Titwobble Lane.
Apparently, the shire engineer was driving down here with his wife who said that the road was so bumpy that it was making her tits wobble, so being such a nice guy, he named it after her.

Dead Goat Soak
DEAD GOAT SOAK, South AustraliaDead Goat Soak is located deep in the beautiful semi-arid Flinders Rangers in South Australia. It's a nice spot for some serious bushwalking and also a significant fossil site. In Australian English, a soak is a waterhole, a place where rainwater collects. Apparently, during a drought a goat died in this soak which made the water undrinkable.

Nar Nar Goon
NAR NAR GOON, VictoriaNar Nar Goon is a town just out of Packenham, east of Melbourne. The name comes from a lost local word which is thought to mean native bear (koala) or water rat, depending who you ask. Nar Nar Goon is a particularly funny name for Australians because "goon" is a colloquial word meaning cheap wine in a carton and "nar" means "no". So the usual joke goes something like this:
"You bringing stubbies to the party?" (Are you bringing small bottles of beer to the party?)
"Nar Nar Goon" (Oh no. I shall bring a box of cheap wine.)
In fact, Nar Nar Goon is a nice little town famous for the murals painted on its historic buildings and is near the Gumbaya World amusement park.

Barren Box Swamp
BARREN BOX SWAMP, New South WalesBecause of the dry and infertile bush around here, the original Barren Box Swamp was developed and divided into two sections - 40% is used for water storage and recycling while the rest is a natural wetland which is only full of water after heavy rain or flooding from Mirrool Creek. The area has been classified as an Important Bird Area and is not yet open to the public.
Bizarrely, there is a children's book called Bizi the Musk Duck of Barren Box Swamp based on the success of the develpopment project to save the swamp.

Hells Gates
HELLS GATES, Valley of Lagoons, QueenslandDamn Hell's Gates! Hells Gates open into Burdekin River in north-eastern Queensland. A feasibility study is now underway to determine if the site should be dammed.
Hells Gates is located in Valley of Lagoons, named by the explorer Ludwig Leichhardt obviously because of all the lagoons in the valley.

You can see the nearby curiously named Teds Knob Mine and Mount Fullstop Range.

Yankee Doodle Bore
YANKEE DOODLE BORE, Northern TerritoryThis dandy well can be found in the wild west of the Northern Territory in the Gurindji region, named after the local Gurindji people.
A short pony ride will take you to Kalkarindji, the site of the famous Wave Hill walk-off and strike by 200 Gurindji workers at a cattle station in 1966. This landmark land rights event eventually led to a portion of the land being given back to the indigenous people.
